What is the purpose of the Teacher Learning Academy?
The TLA aims to provide high-quality professional development to improve the strategies, pedagogies, and programs currently used in Campbell County Public Schools. Attendance is limited to 10, 11, and 12-month certified staff returning to CCPS for the 2024-2025 school year.

What is the stipend for attendance? When should I expect to receive the stipend for attendance?
CCPS will pay an $85.00 stipend for each two-hour session attended. You can attend up to six sessions during the two-day event. The stipends will be paid in your July 31 paycheck. Eleven- and twelve-month employees will not be eligible to receive a stipend, as the TLA is scheduled during your contracted days.

How many recertification points are available?
Under Option 8 of the Virginia License Renewal Manual, you will receive one recertification point per hour of attendance. Each two-hour session will result in 2 recertification points. If you attend all six sessions, you will receive 12 points.

Is attendance required?
Attendance is not required.

What should I bring?
Participants should bring their CCPS-issued laptop, school ID badge, and any other materials they deem necessary for quality participation.

What about the dress code?
Participants may dress casually.

What about lunch?
Lunch is from 12:15 to 1:30 each day. It will not be provided. However, food trucks will be parked at RMS during the daily lunch break so you can purchase lunch. You are also welcome to bring your lunch from home and enjoy eating in the building.
