Stop the Bleed

Training opportunity available to any CCPS faculty and staff who are interested!

The number one cause of preventable death after injury is bleeding. Learn how to become a responder to uncontrollable bleeding in an emergency until medical help arrives.

Stop the Bleed is an interactive session, where we will walk you through the 3 methods of bleeding control using video demonstration, and hands on learning experiences.

School Nurse Coordinator for all Campbell County Public Schools, and experienced nurse of 10 years, with 18 years of medical experience. I have a passion for awareness, education training, and filing in the gaps where needed.

Nurse Wingfield helps in our School Nurse clinics at all the schools in Campbell County. She has over 26 years experience as a nurse, and currently works at Carillion Hospital on a cardiac unit.

Teachers wanting CPR and First Aid certification renewal.
Teachers will be trained on the following skills:
*adult CPR- AED use
*removal of gloves
*finding the problem in an emergency
*using an epi-pen
*bandaging and bleeding

Co-Teaching: How to Make it Work

This session will help give you strategies & techniques to use within the co-teaching classroom. We will focus on making co-teaching work in any classroom. Additionally, we will go over various tools to help facilitate a healthy and beneficial partnership between co-teachers.

Heartsaver First Aid CPR/AED

This is an instructor led course that will teach participants critical skills needed to respond to and manage a medical emergency until more advanced services arrive. Skills covered in this course include basic first aid for common emergencies, choking relief in adults, children and infants and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children and infants. This course will also satisfy the VA Department of Education requirement for teacher relicensure.
